Online technical workshop of Crocodile 3 project partners – digitalization of cross-border traffic management plans

The Croatian Road Society - Via Vita has been gathering experts and the interested public for decades with regular organization of congresses through discussions, round tables and lectures on topics related to road connections. As strategic documents of the Government of the Republic of Croatia and the European Union place increasing emphasis on multimodality, this guild approach to transport issues is no longer sufficient. Linking the development plans of different modes of transport shapes all current and future projects, so our traditional road forum has been successfully expanded for two years by inviting the general professional public dealing with transport. The Congress was motivated by the need for participants in the transport sector to gather in one place, discuss current topics and exchange views on the current moment, operational plans for next year, as well as the concept and strategy of transport development of the Republic of Croatia.

In order to bring the Crocodile 3 Croatia project even closer to the professional and general public, we presented the project within the Congress. Emphasis was placed on investing efforts at the technical, organizational and distribution levels. For the end user, the project will contribute to improving trust by providing information on the condition and passability of all motorways and state roads, on the occurrence of an emergency, and thus encourage behavior in accordance with the envisaged traffic management strategies. The implementation of new equipment and systems and applications for end users will contribute to the unification of motorway traffic management, harmonization of traffic flows and the provision of all information in real time.
